Hi everyone, I had cancer two years ago received six months chemo ,I'm all clear now just curious if anyone has had symptoms related to fibromyalgia, I just can't get it together not one day goes by and I'm in pain, I can't sleep, I just thought once I had chemo over I would start to feel normal . It's really taken over my life i have a list of symptoms , I hate going to my gp as I feel like I sound a bit mad , I have been using amtriptyline and pain killers after treatment for nerve damage , I have tried mediation and yoga it does help some days to relax , I'm hoping someone here would have some advice , thanks in advance

Hi Threepe. That all sounds horribly familiar! I had chemotherapy 8 years ago and definitely for a good few years afterwards my body wasn't happy. The treatment tipped me into an early menopause, so whenever I queried all the various symptoms the medics told me it was probably that. It might have been, but I had all manner of aches and peripheral nerve damage so bad in my feet and hands that it kept me awake at night. I was genuinely amazed how long it took me to feel okay again, but I do now. None of this is scientific, but my advice would be to try and believe you'll be okay again. I know it's hard when you feel so low. Also keep exercising. It sounds counter intuitive, but it boosts endorphins and will make you feel heaps better psychologically too. I hope the mists clear for you soon. Remember you haven't got cancer, so that's a plus

Thanks so much for your reply good to hear that it does improve , I love to walk and it's one thing I can do without causing pain so I'll continue this and stay positive, thanks again
