White spots on cervix

I'm looking for reassurance here folks. The doctor looked worried and said she needed to talk to somebody else and I've made the mistake of googling it.
Has anyone had experience of having white spots on their cervix and it not being cancer or dysphasia (which as I understand it means pre-cancerous cell growth)?!

mucus producing cysts?

moofolk · 27/02/2018 18:15

Never thought I'd say this but mucus producing cysts sound great! 😂

Given some of her alternatives anyway!

There are nabothian cysts - the above is the only sensible thing I could find on them - page 5 - Nabothian Follicles are of no consequence and their presence does not constitute a reason for gynaecological referral. They are not pedunculated and should not, therefore, be confused with cervical polyps

My guess would be cervical changes linked to hpv. In most cases this resolves by itself.

moofolk · 27/02/2018 22:43

Thanks both. This is quite reassuring. I had HPV changes years ago which did clear up by itself.
I do have other symptoms though, this wasn't a routine smear test.
Hopefully the other symptoms are something else entirely and this is coincidental.

Hi I went to the doctor's this morning for a smear, and she said she could see white patches on my cervix..she said it could be thrush..but I have no other symptoms of thrush. I guess it's now a waiting game 🤞

catweasel44 · 31/05/2018 08:03

I've been referred for an inflamed and ulcerated cervix. Went to the doctor as it was becoming increasingly sore. She said she wasn't unduly concerned but I'm terrified.

catweasel44 · 31/05/2018 08:05

I'm hoping it's just an infection but it's hard not to worry

Hope this allays some of your fears. I also had no pain or other symptoms.
I was referred due to abnormal smear test 18 months previously about which they failed to inform me at the time, but I am still here Smile.

catweasel44 · 31/05/2018 08:41

digerd I love you!

moofolk · 07/06/2018 01:42

Blimey @digerd!

Others who are worried btw mine turned out to be fine. After her 'hmmm I need to talk to another doctor about this' I went back a week later and she didn't even mention it (was there about other symptoms anyway, hence looking, and this was a follow up).

I said I'd been worrying about it all week and she said 'oh no it was nothing I spoke to the other doctor straight away and she said not to worry,' and then after seeing my face 'maybe I should have let you know straight away.'

Er. Yes. Maybe you should.

@Leahkatie and @catweasel44 hope you're both ok too!
