Flu jab but not nasal spray for kids

Hello, has anyone managed to get a flu jab for a child as injection and not the nasal spray? Privately? Where and how much?

Is it at all available here in the UK?

TIA

Is there a reason it has to be the jab? Nasal one tends to protect against an extra strain as most jabs are trivalent

Yes, privately, in Jabs Caterham in November.

They didn't have the nasal spray.

Can't remember how much - £10 or £20I think.

My DS 6 who has asthma has the jab and not the nasal as the nasal 2 years in a row triggered an asthma attack.

Apparently the nasal spray is only offered here in England and not in other EU countries. Also it has been withdrawn from use in the US. Apparently hasn't been effective and parents reported lots of flu symptoms.

I wanted to get a flu jab but I was offered only nasal.

Iggy Ace, really it triggered asthma attack? Poor your little one. I hope she is OK after the jab. I guess the nasal spray isn't for everyone.

Mumchatting, yes within the week on both occasions we ended up in A&E needing steroids. The jab causes no ill effects.
