Problems 3 years after last baby!

To cut a long story short, my background is one natural birth at 31, only problem mildish SPD, lost second baby halfway through pregnancy due to Trisomy 18, third baby very bad SPD and bed rest/hospital stays due to bleeds (placenta previa), C section which ended in transfusion due to major bleed, then (unexpected) last pregnancy at 40, again with severe SPD, placenta previa and C section. I recovered well from both operations but 3 years on I still struggle with SPD pain, despite exercises etc. Also, since the last c section I have experienced pain in my left side at the waist, when first reported at drs was told to expect it as just had c section etc. So I have tried to ignore it but 3 years? Really? It seems worse just before periods so guessing something hormonal. Have just had a full blood count which came back clear. I have googled symptoms and came up with various possible causes but was wondering if anybody else is still suffering persistent pain years after birth, be it SPD or the weird one at the waist? Does it ever go away? I just take painkillers and get on with it but I get so down about it sometimes! X

Endometriosis perhaps?

It's a possibity, yes. I'm also thinking adhesions or maybe an ovarian cyst. Just wondered if other women experienced this after their c sections..

Hiya! Sorry you're still suffering
I've had back and hip pain for 2.5 years since having my son, told to get on with it
Got pregnant again and self referred myself to the local NHS Physio (I had just moved areas)
And she was horrified that I had been left in such a state with no physio or anything
My pelvis was misaligned
The spd this pregnancy is horrific
I am praying that I'm not left permanently damaged! But I fear I may be as it's so debilitating I am sure it's causing damage!

There are some great support groups on Facebook if you're on there
Type in spd and they should come up
Thousands of women on there at different stages, some pregnant and some years later

I would also recommend looking at the pelvic partnership website
They have info on there and I think there is even a help line which would help you find local chiropractors and osteopath etc

You have my sympathies completely, who knew having kids would wreck a body so much hey??
Xx

Oh no, sorry to hear you are suffering too and I hope it improves for you in time.
I was very silly turning down physio when it was offered to me as I can't stand strangers touching me. Now I wish I had. The other pain I have on my side is worse than the actual SPD sometimes, it's the combination of both that gets me down. I'm 43 in April but on a bad day I walk worse than my oldest living relative who is 96.. 😖😖 But hey, the children are worth any pain and also it gets DH to help with the hoovering which I HATE... wink, wink! 😂 Good luck and hugs xx

Don't beat yourself up too much! Sometimes there's not much a Physio can actually do whilst your pregnant because of the ligaments etc!
I'm seeing a Physio but can't say it's really helping TBH!
It's so shit! I'm only 26 yet I feel like I'm trapped in a 90 year olds body!
They are so Worth it but life can be tough x

Exactly... wow you are so young, to feel like this, I really feel for you! At least I was 35 when it got bad... Big hugs xx
