It was hystericus when I was diagnosed in 2003. Does hystericus mean woman or female? I didn't know that.

What's that lol I've not really thought about it today at work so I've not been too bad.it always seems to be bad at night x

'Hystericus' shares its word root with 'uterus', so of course heavily implies only women can be hysterical Hmm
Which is also why some male 'psychiatrists' suggested orgasm was a cure for 'hysteric fits' HmmHmmHmm

I think it is no longer felt to be acceptable to call a globus sensation aka lump in throat feeling without physical actual obstruction something quite so misogynistic...

As others have said, if it is progressive or you actually physically can no longer get food/drink over without feeling an obstruction see your GP again, they can refer you to ENT where a quick camera test will very likely be able to reassure you.
The trickier bit is to address the stress or anxiety reaction that caused the muscles in the floor of you mouth/throat/voice box/gullet go tight in the first place. Decent anxiety management like CBT can work wonders for globus, so don't despair!

If you felt better at work, likely because you were distracted, that is a really good sign that there is nothing physically obstructing your throat.

Sip a hot drink when it's really bothering you, that worked for me. You need to satisfy yourself that it's nothing physically wrong then you'll probably find that resolves on its own (it sounds exactly like mine which only lasted a few weeks although it does sometimes come back if I'm stressed or even watching a tense tv show!). If that means another trip to the doctor to set your mind at rest, do it.

There's an app called Flowy which is good for anxiety. Read a book or watch a funny tv programme, that helped me.
