Dry areolas?

Hello all, I’m a little worried and unsure as to if I should be. I was hoping someone here could help/tell me if they’ve experienced the same?
I’m 18 and I’m pretty certain I’m not pregnant however I’ve noticed both of my areolas are very dry. I’ve known they’ve been like this for a fair few months, possibly a year, now and it’s never really worried me but it is a little at the minuet. One is definitely a lot dryer than the other and the dry patches are slightly darker but it is affecting both areas. It can becoming slightly itchy but very rarely and I am currently on my period so could that be making it worse? The dryness comes and goes through the day and it becomes a lot worse after coming out of a hot bath or shower. Other than this I’ve had no other issues, no discharge or pain etc...
I guess I just want to know if anyone has any ideas as to what it could be or if you think I need to find medical help soon.
Thanks! Grin

Also, vasaline and sudocrem don’t help much; exfoliating then moisturising helps for about a day and skin oil helps for a couple hours

I have this. Dryness, though no difference in colour. I'm prone to dry skin anyway. I just moisturise. It has never worried me.

How is the rest of your skin? I get dry patches elsewhere too.

Are you using moisturiser or body oil daily?

Ah it’s good to hear someone else gets it too!
The difference in colour is very slight I’ve got to say. My T zone gets extreamly dry all the time and not much helps it and I get the rare patch on my leg or hands sometimes, it’s just a little bit stronger here.

I’ve begun to oil daily and it does take away some of the dryness for a little while.

I'm on treatment which dries my skin out, so my face is also very dry. I have some hyaluronic acid serum which seems to help a bit. Supposedly it helps the skin absorb moisture, though I don't know if that's true or if there's actually enough of the active ingredient to be effective.

My shoulders also get quite dry. I guess nipples are more prone to it, like elbows, because they are more likely to rub on clothing etc.

I think it's just a case of moisturising every day. If I stop even for a day I start to get dry again. Obviously if you develop any other symptoms then get it checked out, but I don't think dry skin on its own is a cause for concern, unless it's an actual rash.

Thank you! You’ve definitely put my mind more at rest
