I go to bed at 8pm every night

Sometimes even 7.30. I'm 29. Blush I fall asleep almost straight away and then
I sleep through until 5.30/6 every day. I can't physically keep my eyes open to stay awake. Dh finds me asleep on the sofa instead.

I have two children, work part time/term time so get decent work rest but if I don't have 10/11 hours every night I can't function. Basically as soon as the kids are asleep off I go.

This has been going on my entire adult life. Dh spends his evenings alone downstairs most of the time which I know he feels sad about understandably. I panic if I (rarely) get invited out socially because it all starts at my "bedtime" so I often find excuses otherwise I'm just falling asleep.

I've had blood tests and nothing found.

Help. Sad

First thing I thought when I read it was under active thyroid. Closely followed by anaemia or exceptionally low bp.

Thyroid is notorious for test results being called "within normal" and gps dismissing it but actually it may not be within normal for you at all and you sometimes need to push for re tests.

It may just be you are a super sleepy early riser but if it's affecting your husband and your relationship it's worth asking again for everything possible to be checked.

Oh yes as a Pp says, sleep apnea could also be a cause. If you are not getting proper rest it's very hard to keep going. Has your DH mentioned anything about your breathing while sleeping? Would he know what to look/listen for?

Hypermobility and feeling this tired? Have you heard of Ehlers Danlos? Might explain a lot.

Butterymuffin · 15/02/2018 23:33

You could still get 10 hours' sleep if you went to bed at 9pm and got up at 7am. At least that would be an improvement. Could you try very gradually shifting your bedtime forward 5 minutes, get used to that then another 5 minutes till you're at 9pm?

Sounds like a lot of sleep. I would check your iron levels and vitamin D.

I've heard that you can have too much sleep.

I'm at work at 7. I leave at 6.40.

10h sleep isn't odd at all, contrary to the macho sleep is for wimps culture, sone people just do need it.
It sounds more like the issue is the earliness of your sleep pattern which itvis possible to shift, as Butterymuffin said.
