Slendertone belts (or similar products)

Has anyone ever tried one? Did it work? Assuming you used it consistently I mean! I used to be really thin (size 4) but over the last 10 years I’ve doubled my body weight and gone up 5 dress sizes! I’d like it to stop now. I do go to the gym twice a week but exercise is not easy for me because I’m disabled. I simply cannot do sit-ups at all (I literally cannot sit unsupported), so if the belt works then it would be a good investment. They’re on sale on Amazon right now and so I’m wondering if it’s worth the £100.

Any reviews would be appreciated!

If you’ve doubled your body weight it won’t be a miracle cure- what’s your diet like?

riledandharrassed · 04/02/2018 11:38

They don’t work .

Find a trainer who can help you put together a work out plan that works for you .

Diet is more important than excercise for weight loss

Yeah I do have a pt at the gym and I am working on the diet too. I was just hoping there was an additional thing I could do that would make exercise considerably easier! Oh well, back to the drawing board. Thanks!

Lol I am too hungover to even spell exercise

riledandharrassed · 04/02/2018 11:52

Hmm . How are you finding dieting? The one thing that really worked for me was going on to the 5:2 Diet . How much do you have to lose ?

These belts can help people who are already fairly lean but sadly will make no visible impact if you have more to lose .

Xx

I was ludicrously underweight before so I don’t expect to go back to 5 stone. I’d like to be 8 stone, so that’s 3 to lose and it’s basically all around my middle unfortunately (which I know is the worst place to have it health-wise and the hardest to shift it from). I’ve thought about the 5:2 diet but I’m not sure I could physically manage on the 2 days as I use a lot of energy doing basic task. I dirty to limit my calories to 1200 each day but I just seem to be getting fatter!

1200 is usually not adequate . You need to work out your base metabolic rate and go from there in regard to creating a small calorie deficit . Look for “BMR calculators online”

If you don’t think 5:2 would suit your life have a look into intermittent fasting which is eating within a shorter window of time during the day ( 8 hours ) .

riledandharrassed · 04/02/2018 12:17

Also I started on the 5:2 which was great for a while doing the 500 calories and I’ve now moved to doing 0 fasts on 2 days a week .

This has removed my migraines and IBS symtoms so for me nothing short of miraculous ! Xx

Angelf1sh · 04/02/2018 12:18

Thanks for the tips, I’ll take a look.
