2nd lot due today, already late as he's almost 15 weeks.

Also still has runny poos since the last lot he had 4 weeks ago. Not diaoerreh though according to HV as it's only 1-2 a day rather than 6-7.

So do I take him or not??

He seems perfectly happy and is in his chair ATM shouting at us all....

I think you are alright to take him if he does not have a temperature. I always feel uneasy about overloading their system if they are already under the weather.

Am facing the same question myself today as dd is due her menengitis jab and she has a cold. I am going to see how bad she is when she gets up befoe I make the decision.

amidaiwish · 30/04/2007 07:18

No i definitely wouldn't.
he's not that late with his jabs, so i wouldn't worry. I didn't start the jabs til DD2 was 16 weeks as she had colds, doctor told me no problem at all and not to do them until she was well. She was 7 months before we had had all 3 lots.

earlgrey · 30/04/2007 07:21

No.

LadyTophamHatt · 30/04/2007 07:35

ok, 2 no's, one maybe.....

anyone else??

ChippyMinton · 30/04/2007 07:36

No, because if there are any odd symptons you won't know whether it was the jabs or a virus. Call the doc/HV first thing.

harrisey · 30/04/2007 08:10

I would, as long as they didnt have a temp.
If mine hadnt gone when they were just bunged up ds (5!) would not have had his yet I think. As long as they are well in themselves, I took them, even if they had some symptoms!

PestoMonster · 30/04/2007 08:13

I wouldn't. I would let their systems recover first and then take them.

piglit · 30/04/2007 08:17

I wouldn't but I am probably over cautious about jabs. Ds2 didn't have his MMR/PCV until he was 17 months (meant to be 13 months) because he's had a bad cold/cough etc all winter.

stitch · 30/04/2007 08:17

no

Haribosmum · 30/04/2007 08:42

Maybe take him to clinic and ask whoever is going to give the jabs their opinion?

Flower3554 · 30/04/2007 08:49

I wouldn't. At our clinic they always ask the question "is baby well"

I know if they don't have a temp they can still have their jabs but as has been said how will you know if they're ill from the injections or just ill from the blocked nose/cold etc.

It won't hurt to wait until next week.

amidaiwish · 30/04/2007 09:22

there's no way they won't vaccinate if you turn up, not unless the baby is obviously REALLY ILL

fryalot · 30/04/2007 09:23

I would ring HV first and ask if you should take him.

saintmaybe · 30/04/2007 09:28

No.

LadyTophamHatt · 30/04/2007 09:28

Just called to cancel appt and discovered its not today anyway.

Jabs are done on a Tuesday.

I'll start this thread again tomorrow, if thats ok

fryalot · 30/04/2007 09:29

looking forward to it

pucca · 30/04/2007 09:33

Just to voice my experience, i took my ds for his jabs when he had literally just started with a cold that day, he ended up with a temp of almost 40 and lethargic, and on childrens ward (his temp was fine before jabs).

This may have just been my ds, he may have had a reaction anyway but just thought i would tell you so you can decide yourself.

Hope he feels better soon, it awful for LO's when they full of a cold my ds is atm.

pucca · 30/04/2007 09:33

Oops just read your last post lol, oh well advice still stands for tomorrow

fortyplus · 30/04/2007 09:36

I wouldn't take him if he has a high temp, but if he's happy, hungry and just snotty then I would take him and mention it when you get there.
