Has anyone had this? I'm getting a sinking feeling that what appeared to be thrush is possibly LS. The thrush treatment hasn't worked at all.

Back to the GP next week if I don't go insane with the soreness and itching first Hmm.

I've just been diagnosed by my GP with LS. I'm awaiting a referral for a formal diagnosis at present. Do go to your Dr in the first instance and get it checked out. If they think it is LS, you'll probably be prescribed a strong steriod cream to manage the symptoms. There is no cure unfortunately. There's a good FB group with UK in the title that's worth joining for help and advice.

Thanks shizzy. Hope yours is under control soon.

I've had a week of thrush cream and a tablet and it's made no difference. GP apt next Tues.

OP, I’d suggest going to your local STI clinic - not because I’m suggesting you have an STI but because they can rule out thrush (or check if it’s a resistant strain given lack of response to treatment) plus look at your skin for signs of lichen sclerosus or other skin conditions that could cause soreness and itching.
GPs are not always confident in managing such issues although of course it depends on their experience

I don’t have this but I do get very dry in this area- the things I do is not use any bubble bath or soap, use a natural oil like coconut or moisturise with E45, eat yoghurt(natural not sugary), not eat sugary foods, wear knickers that don’t have elastic on the edging ie boy pants where the elastic is in the fabric, keep short nails😳 however LS is a bit more intense so probably more medical advice is needed

Hi, I've had LS for 20 yrs & sympathise with your symptoms. I hope your gp has given you some steroid cream in the meantime & referred you to your local Colposcopy Clinic to be properly diagnosed. It's not much fun at times but I find a cool shallow bath will soothe the area or at night a cold wet face cloth placed in the area gives relief until I fall asleep. I hope you get some relief soon.

I have LS, first diagnosed when I attended an appt for a smear test that was so painful that it couldn't be done. There was also fusion of my labia that needed a small operation to seperate. This was because I had felt the itching but did not go to the gp soon enough.
That being said it is now really manageable using two different steroid creams.
I hope you feel better soon, it's a really uncomfortable condition to have.
