Oh, I would be interested to know this too. Was going to start a thread meself. Just what is possible?

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 28/04/2007 18:21

Push ups - do them on your knees if you can't do the full out ones. Also aerobics class with hand weights....... banish those bingo wings!

saintmaybe · 28/04/2007 18:23

Hand weights are expensive, tins of beans are cheap and handy

Blandmum · 28/04/2007 18:24

Me

The rest of me got flabby to match, so now at least I co-ordinate with my own flab!

brimfull · 28/04/2007 18:28

tricep curls
grab a tin of beans
kneel on all fours
shoulder and elbow parallel to back
lower hand(holding weight) to almost 90degrees and back up to almost extension
repeat 12 times x3
to add more effort do a pulse(extra little push) at the top extnsion(when the arm is at almost full length)

brimfull · 28/04/2007 18:29

christ I am crap at explaining things-sorry

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 28/04/2007 18:29

Hand weights from Tesco - the ones that strap around your wrist - cost about £4 last year. Otherwise bottles of water, the 500ml ones are easier to hold.

Do punching out straight forward, then crossing over, then up into the air. When you do the air ones keep your hands forward of your head to protect your back. Also do triceps curls - difficult to explain, but alternate hands sort of under your arm pit and twist your arm out and to the back under your armpit.

brimfull · 28/04/2007 18:30

this is probably easier to understand

DimpledUpperArms · 28/04/2007 18:36

Also, sit on a sturdy chair, then carefully lower your body off the chair while you keep your hands on the chair and do dips. You can do this with your legs straight in front of you or bent.

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 28/04/2007 18:37

There are some good exercises on that site ggirl.

Handweights here at Tesco direct You can get heavier ones too. You can also use these on your ankles and do leg lifts and stuff. I put my handweights on when I'm doing housework - making the beds and stuff. I know, saddo! But I do have toned upper arms lol!

brimfull · 28/04/2007 18:44

apparently it is one of the smallest muscles a woman has ,hence that area gets flabby so easily

MarieCeleste · 28/04/2007 20:58

So did you all get really good results? Please say yes Along the lines of "I went from bingo wings to Mrs Muscle", please.

MarieCeleste · 28/04/2007 20:59

Oh, sorry, Saggar, you did say that!

DimpledUpperArms · 28/04/2007 22:25

There's no secret.Exercise. Eat well. Look after yourself.
I promise that it works.

PavlovtheCat · 29/04/2007 09:52

Pilates is great for those flabby bits, a particular exercise which is hard to describe but works fantastically on those muscles that are not used so often and hard to exercise without getting big muscles.

PavlovtheCat · 29/04/2007 09:55

quick way of describing the exercise I am thinking of.
Hold hands in front of you in 'prayer' position. Push hands together, dropping hands down whilst keeping together to bring in line with elbows. Keep back straight, dont move elbows from position.

So keep everything in same place, backs arms, but push hands togther, sounds weird but it works those little muscles, its easy to do, and does not involve spending money!

DimpledUpperArms · 29/04/2007 10:00

thanks dog and cat - have you actually seen result form these methods you promote???

Am desperate!

OP posts:
DimpledUpperArms · 29/04/2007 10:01

'results from'

PavlovtheCat · 29/04/2007 10:49

Dimpled - I dont have any flabby bits under the arms...is that promotion enough? Good luck, The key is, with most exercise, keep you back straight but relaxed (ie dont tense the muscles) and then when you do any exercise, all the muslces should work to the maximum naturally. Ie if you keep back straight when walking, all the muscles used will be used to the optimum, including underarm muscles...but this exercise is particularly good I found...

Jackaroo · 29/04/2007 11:45

PS Tricep dips are great, but I found much easier to use the edge of the bath, sit on edge, hands, gripping bath either side of your bum - alternate having your hands quite far apart and right next to your bottom - whilst sitting make sure knees and feet are together, and keep elbows tucked in to your sides.
Slide bottom off bath edge so you go straight down the side of bath, until you're almost on the floor (depending on if you have a weirdly high bath?!), push yourself back up using just your arms. YOu may manage 2, you may manage 5, but if you can do 20 straight off you're not using just your triceps!!
THis is really great, and does work, and I've just reminded myself to go and do some!

whoopsfallenoveragain · 29/04/2007 11:47

Lidl had some hand weights when I was in there but sorry I didn't notice how much they were!
