Whiplash - any advice/ experience?

Our car was hit from behind in the snow the other week.
We’ve all been ok apart from some whiplash. Dh’s has pretty much gone but I’m still feeling like I’ve WAY over done it at the gym all across my shoulders and down my back.

How long before it eases off?
How long before I should see a doctor?
Anything I can do to make it go away quicker?

Sorry for all the daft questions. It’s pretty minor as injuries go, just really annoying. —not to mention the insurance hassles—

Go and see or speak to your GP. My DH was shunted in an accident in November and has been having weekly physio for whiplash and it's only just really improving. The insurance have covered the physio.

I was rear ended by a larger vehicle in June, still having issues with my back now.

Had physio via the insurance company, but they only paid for 10 sessions.

I've seen my own Dr a few times and two different insurance company drs.

Heat packs.
Keep moving as best you can.
Ibuprofen/Paracetamol.
Time.

The vast majority of sore necks/backs after low velocity impacts are resolved after 2 weeks or so.

Up to 2 weeks is about right for normal whiplash (that fixes itself). Just be very kind to your ligaments.

There is a lot of mockery regarding whiplash but in a regular shunt it can easily be symptomatic for up to 6 months i.e headaches, pain, lack of mobility in the neck,a grinding feeling when you rotate your head.

It just takes time. In more severe cases, see doctor to exclude any other issues.
