Eczema on face

The cold weather has caused my ds to flare up. He's has it on his face and it's itchy. He usually uses steroid cream for his body when we need to get his skin under control but we've been told not to use it on his face.

The only things that he can use at the moment are coconut oil, water and diprobase cream seems to ease the itching. I've given him antihistamines to help him feel more comfortable. What else can I do? We can't seem to get the inflammation to go.

Oh poor kid. I've been flaring up on the face due to cold weather and central heating etc. I eventually just went to GP and they gave me a mild steroid for my face. Milder than the one I have for my body. It has really helped. I don't know if no steroids at all are recommended for children's faces but if nothing is helping and he's suffered then maybe a visit back to the GP for advice on suitable steroid is needed.

Could his skin tolerate a thicker, greasier cream than diprobase. I tend to roll out hydromol or 50/50 at this time of year. Also epaderm which you can buy off the shelf in boots. I put a layer of these over sore patches on face before I go out into cold air.

My dd was prescribed steroid cream to use on her face. I'd query it with the doctor.
