Can I have some quick advice please?

Ds just had a tummy bug, but he seems to be better today.

dd2 looks like she is coming down with it, she's just been to the loo and it was (TMI ALERT) a bit sloppy but mostly ok.

We are supposed to be going out in an hour. I took ds out when he was ill, but dd2 is recently potty trained. I don't want to put her in a nappy "just in case". Do I want to risk taking a recently potty trained small girl out of the house when she might be perfectly ok, or should I stay inside all day with a potty handy?

I have an hour to decide.

thanks.

xx

Obviously, if she gets worse, I'll keep her at home, btw. I am asking for advice on what to do if nothing else happens between now and me having to leave the house.

She seems ok in herself.

Where are you going? If you are reasonably near home I'd take her, but with tons of wipes and a change of clothing.

SSShakeTheChi · 26/04/2007 08:44

How long are you going out for?

fryalot · 26/04/2007 08:45

About half an hour in the car, then an hour or so out, then another half hour coming home again. Will be out all together for a good couple of hours.

If you're staying local I'd risk it, just take changes of clothes and wipes. If further afield I might still do it if she seems ok - take potty with you and nappy in case of emergency?

MamaG · 26/04/2007 08:47

Go, Squonk, you'll kick yourself if you don't and have a happy girl all day wondering why she didn't go out!

MarsLady · 26/04/2007 08:47

Take her and the potty.

What will happen is that if you don't take her nothing will happen and if you do it will iyswim!

Take her, lots of wipes and a large bottle of water for her to drink. Nothing milky or dairy.

fryalot · 26/04/2007 08:49

Marslady, you are so right - but if I use that philosophy and don't go so that she will be ok, then she won't be, and vice versa!

Assuming she doesn't get any worse, I will take her, nappy, three packs of wipes, towels, changes of clothes and my fingers crossed.

Thank you for all your input.

She was fine. All day, she was fine and I was really proud of her

This morning, however, she is projectile vomiting all over the living room, so I think we'll stay indoors today.

Thanks for all the advice yesterday.

You have my sympathies Squonk. Ds had this for the last 36 hours, minus the diarrhoea. He has just had his first food - 3 Rich Tea biscuits - and so far they seem to staying down ok. Yesterday he couldn;t even keep water down for a while.

LittleEgg · 27/04/2007 08:29

Hey Squonk

Just wanted to say for you. Hope she gets better quickly. DS used to be an expert in projectiles when he was little, and those were just milk ones so my sympathies are firmly with you.

fryalot · 27/04/2007 08:34

thank you both.

Really should get off the puter and go and sit with them (two dds poorly and ds now running around like a mad boy!) but I'm hiding out here.

Maybe lock the sickly ones outside in the garden so their puke can be hosed away... or is that a bit cruel?

fryalot · 27/04/2007 09:04

That's a fab idea, Egg. And it's raining here, so I wouldn't even need to get the hose out

Hehe, only just seen this! Perfect solution for pukey children.
