Thyroid - how to get a diagnosis?

I have a lot of symptoms of hypothyroidism. My grandma, mum, aunt and cousins all have thyroid disease.

I had a host of blood tests last year and my TSH is considered normal. GP won’t do free T3, T4 or TPO.

Not sure what to do next? I would a baby in the next year or two and want to get it all sorted as I’ve read it cause birth defects or infertility if not treated?

thyroid function can also be improved with vitamin d, in fact most thyroid specialists (ie my NHS endocrine clinic) check your vitamin d levels are topped up to optimum level ie: 100mg/mol of blood. You may need a loading dose as well as the usual supplement you can buy over the counter ie: 1000iu per day. My thyroid has been topped up with thryoxine as I am hypothyroid but I still take 2000 iu of Vitamin D a day as advised by NHS consultant. FWIW I was only diagnosed when my thyroid TSH was at 8, despite having symptoms previously. However I think an awful lot of that was due to vitamin d deficiency, the cold, tiredness anxiety, joint pain, not just lack of thyroxine. The two can be interdependent.
