Not the poo troll, but should I see GP now?

Got the horrid not-quite-flu thing going around. Fevers and shivers, achey joints, tiredness, and the bastarding cough. I even had the flu jab.
I know it's not flu-flu, just a wretched cold and there is probably little GP can do for me, but I've been not well for 3 weeks. The unproductive coughing fits sound like my starter motor had packed up and leave me gasping for air. I waved goodbye to my pelvic floor last week, and have been retching with coughing, and burst blood vessels around my eyes.
But the last straw is that I'm beginning to lose bowel control when coughing.
WTF do I do?!

You need to do everything you can to stop coughing as it's wrecking your poor pelvic floor.

Kegel exercises should help with the incontinence.

Hope you feel better soon.

You have just got to wait it out.

Doctors round my way are calling it "gastric flu" and are telling patients that it will last between 2 and 4 weeks (sorry, so sorry)

They are also telling patients this over the phone as they don't want them in the surgeries.

I know it must be fucking awful but could you put a towel under where you are sitting / laying just in case??

Maybe some Immodium would help??

If you are worried call your GP for reassurance but don't worry.

I know it sounds awful but so many people have had this now but it will eventually clear up.

Are you drinking enough to stay hydrated?

"Diarolyte relief" (ahem) solidifies things somewhat. Or there's trusty Imodium.

You might already be doing this but clench your pelvic floor before coughing. Take an antihistamine a day as the cough may be exacerbated by post nasal drip.

Personally, I'd have a phone consultation with the gp.
