Possible gallstones

Symptoms - pain in ribs, spasming like, which I was convinced was muscular, but GP is fairly certain they are gallstones.

I get an ultrasound in around a month's time. If confirmed, does it always mean surgery, and if so, how quickly will I be referred for surgery?

Scan shows no stones - so most likely muscular after all. Few more tests being done, blood and stool, but pain is mostly away.

Apple juice, pears, beetroot. Someone on here always recommends them for gallstone trouble. Obviously they won't cure you, but apparently will soften the stones and make them easier to pass.

Cormoranstrike, that's good news. I hope the rest of the tests work out well and that it settles down.
