Dizziness with eye jerking and nausea.

So for the past three days now I’ve had dizziness pretty much all day in short bursts with short gaps in between. Along with dizziness I get eye jerking (feels like it’s from side to side) and nausea. It’s affecting me a lot and I also have a cold with a bad cough and lots of sneezing (although the sneezing has stopped today) the sneezing made it come on worse and so does the coughing. Even if I am sat down not doing anything it will come on and they are quite intense and honestly, they scare me.

I’m holding out til Monday to phone the GP but I was wondering if anyone may know what this is? I have vertigo although not officially diagnosed yet so I get dizziness anyway but this is another level. I also take medication (have done for months now) for an under active thyroid. No other medications at all.

I'll be honest, you haven't got a bad case of labyrinthitis if you can't find a way to get to a chemist! I would have crawled over broken glass for some relief!

Hopefully it'll clear up quickly when your cold goes.

HollyBollyBooBoo It’s bad enough that I have cried but I refuse to risk other people’s health when I can wait. It may not be labyrinthitis and I hope it goes with the cold. Which has pretty much gone. But it’s still concerning so I’ll bring it up with the GP and see what they say. I’ve been around a child with a bug of which she is a carrier and I have a cold or sinus infection so I don’t want to infect other people if I can avoid it.

How are you doing? I’ve had this and more symptoms besides, ended up at ENT for hearing and vestibular balance tests and a full brain and spine MRI. All tests were perfect so the consultants put it down to an inner ear defect, nothing they can do. Symptoms come back sometimes, but whatever it is doesn’t progress or cause lasting damage. A word of caution with stemecil though - it works but coming off it made me feel worse than the original dizziness.

Mascarponeandwine I actually feel a lot better. Still dizzy but not as intense and not as often. Will still mention it whenever I see the GP but I’m happy it’s easing up.
