Itchy bottom ! Have I really got to have it looked at by GP ??

Ok ,I give in .I have had enough .

Itchy bottom for weeks .Not worms .It's on the cheeks ,where they touch and where I sit ! Many little lumpy skin tags increase the problem .

Does it have to be professionally pronounced on as fungal or otherwise ?

What can I try myself ? Tea tree oil ? Atheletes' foot cream ?

I'd get it checked, it could be anything - warts look like skin tags!

lamettarules · 26/12/2017 09:34

What can I try in the meantime do you think ? It'll be a few weeks before I can get an appointment .

Is it eczema? I get eczema all around that area. I treat with diprobase and moo goo cream.

mnxnt42 · 26/12/2017 09:42

Canesten cream? That should Help if it’s fungal

MissBax · 26/12/2017 09:43

Can you call 111? They might be able to get you an appt with an out of hours doc? Or a walk in clinic? I imagine they'll be (marginally) quieter today.
I wouldn't risk putting any topical ointments or creams on incase you aggravate whatever it is.

lamettarules · 26/12/2017 09:54

I'm thinking I could aggravate if fungal and I put a cream on top of it ,but would canasten aggravate if it's excema do you think ?

How about a cream that you can get from the chemist?
or e45?
is it haemarrhoids? (piles)

dancingqueen345 · 26/12/2017 10:07

Nappy rash cream? Sound like a bit of chafing. Have you changed your washing powder recently?

Mummydoctor · 26/12/2017 10:11

Sounds like you need a routine GP appointment, not out of hours. In the meantime try simply moisturising the area which may soothe it.

PenelopeFlintstone · 26/12/2017 10:13

Could it be a heat rash? That can be intensely itchy on other parts. Can you buy Aristocort (hydrocortisone) cream over the counter in the UK? If it's a sweat rash it could fix it in just a couple of applications.

Slartybartfast · 26/12/2017 10:15

Do you think it is Jock itch?
try hydrocortisone?

lamettarules · 26/12/2017 10:30

Thanks all .Thinking could be heat rash .Thinking not piles .

OP posts:
loveka · 26/12/2017 10:32

Canesten with hydrocortisone works!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 26/12/2017 10:35

Sudocreme.

MissBax · 26/12/2017 10:45

Shaving rash?

lamettarules · 26/12/2017 10:49

Gosh no ,not shaving rash !

Think I'll try a hydrocortisone cream and book an appointment .

Yes daktarin or canesten hc

Hulder · 26/12/2017 11:04

FFS an itchy bum does not need an OOH appointment. It's quieter because they are for emergencies

Also, from personal experience of sitting in an OOH on New Year's, they aren't quieter.

And yes, you need it looked at. But not urgently.

Racmactac · 26/12/2017 11:18

Canestan cream

giddyupnow · 26/12/2017 11:56

Try changing whatever soap or gel you use all over (ie not just whatever you use in the area!) to something very plain like simple unscented. I had this recently and it was reaction to nice lemony soap that was only using on rest of body.

lamettarules · 26/12/2017 12:28

Just to be clear I have no intention whatsover of ringing OOH or 111 .

Was just wondering what I could try and asking advice about needing to see a GP in the future .

Hi, try a pharmacy who have load of experience or push doctor if they can't help

KarmaStar · 26/12/2017 20:04

Could it be piles OP?
