So my labour was pretty shit... 36 hours, ended up being an emergency forceps delivery as baby was stuck and distressed and I was too tired. Both me and baby had some sort of infection and raised temperatures so were kept in... I had cuts but also a vaginal wall tear from the labour... I was asked by the hospital I gave birth in to go and have bloods done in two weeks time at my Gp to check the infection had gone atlas it hadn't but they didn't look into what this infection could of been at any point.

ANYWAY

When DD was 1 month old I noticed I wasn't smelling too great down there (kind of like rotting flesh) no matter how often I washed it still smelled and that also I had discharge similar to what my mucus plug looked like 🤢 so one night my inner labia went itchy and when I looked they were bright red and swollen. Went to GP and got anti biotics as she said I had an internal infection (assuming this is from vaginal wall tear) and that the discharge was basically very acidic which is why my labia swelled... this got better with anti biotics.

The symptoms have come back again and again my inner labia are very swollen itchy and painful, they also swelled at the start of this week but went down quickly so I didn't think it was anything to be concerned about. but they have been swollen all evening and are throbbing and hot!

HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD ANYTHING LIKE THIS? I feel gross like something is wrong with me ☹️

Well, there very probably is something wrong with you, but that’s what your doctor is there for, you silly sausage!

It’s quite common for infections to return like unwelcome visitors. Get yourself to the G.P. tomorrow. For now, if the pain is acute, sit on a bag of frozen peas (yes, really) also recommended for thrush!

I’d advise calling the GP first thing tomorrow to get an emergency appointment.
If it’s the same symptoms it’s very possible that it’s the infection back again, and if so, best it’s looked at tomorrow, especially as Monday and Tuesday are bank holidays next week.

Why would anyone judge you OP? I agree, you should get an emergency GP appt tomorrow in case you have a recurrent infection. It’s not worth running the risk of leaving it over the holidays.
