Discharge from nipple?

I was in the bath last night and I noticed something on my right nipple. It was what looked like discharge, only a small ball of it, it wasn’t liquid, it was solid and a yellow-y colour. I haven’t noticed it before or since. I did have a good feel and look at my boob but couldn’t feel any lumps or see anything unusual. What could be the reason for it? I daren’t google as I suffer with health anxiety!

Can I jump on this post for a bit of moral support, as I came on here to post something similar. I have also had some nipple discharge, and have been panicking, as you do. The discharge is from one nipple only, and is clear yellowy. I'm so worried, as good old google says that clear discharge is when you should worry. I went to the dr this morning and she said it all feels fine, no lumps, but has referred me to the breast clinic anyway, and for blood tests to check my hormone levels. What is it likely to be if not the dreaded c-word? I can't think about anything else. I'm 47 and perimenopausal, if that makes any difference. I haven't breastfed for over 11 years.

Asked the gynaecologist if it could be to do with the mirena coil he said no. Great made me worry more!

Hi, I had exactly this scenario. I had a mammogram and they found a lump, the lump turned out to be a benign ‘intraductal papillioma’ a kind of wart that grows in the duct and is common in peri-menopausal woman.

Core needle biopsy's came back not cancer and they tried to remove it with a vacuum assisted biopsy, but I ended up having to have a proper operation to remove it as a day case, came back totally benign.
