Fluid in pelvis - ovarian cancer?

I was sent for a Ct scan as I have been having pains in my side and pelvic area and it has shown a trace of fluid in the pelvic region and he mentioned something about lymph nodes. I'm not sure if he said they were swollen or normal as he was kind of muttering to himself.

I've made the mistake of googling this and it keeps coming back to ovarian cancer. He's referred me for an internal ultrasound but I'm really scared now. I have awful health anxiety at the best of times...

Anyone any experiences to share? If it were cancer would there be other symptoms?

Thanks x

Didn’t want to read and run.
A few years back I had awful pain in my side. I was admitted to hospital with suspected appendicitis but an ultrasound showed fluid in the pelvis from a ruptured ovarian cyst.
I really hope you don’t have to wait too long for your ultrasound and that it turns out to be nothing serious. Try not to worry, though I know that’s much easier said than done. x

Google always tells you it’s cancer.

Ovarian cancer symptoms include bloating and feeling full after eating small amounts of food, swollen tummy, pelvic pain and needing to pee a lot. But those are also symptoms of many benign ovarian/pelvic conditions. For example I am awaiting removal of a large cyst that is causing me pelvic pain and hip/side/back pain.

Advise given out here often is DO NOT GOOGLE YOUR SYMPTOMS. And it’s good advice. Go for your scan and wait and see what they diagnose. And try not to fret as chances are it’s nothing sinister Flowers

Thank you for the replies Smile I know it's unlikely to be cancer, but the mention of lymph nodes sent my mind into overdrive. I just hope I don't have to wait too long for the ultrasound x
