Hi everyone, hopefully this is the correct section.
Bit of background I've had heavy periods from about age 15, started age 13. I'm talking (tmi) super plus tampons and pads, flooding, pain, severe pmt etc.
Periods always came day 28-30 like clockwork.
Mid 20s I had to have total thyroidectomy due to precancer nodules and compression of windpipe on top of that autoimmune thyroiditis. This never seemed to affect periods but I had an implant so didn't know.
No implant anymore, thyroid blood levels are erratic and ive had problems over the years with absorption of levothyroxine etc and as there is no thyroid I can go hypothyroid very quickly.
A few years ago I developed lichen sclerosus, another autoimmune disease linked to thyroid disease (not a nice disease and affects down there). Apparently lack of estrogen causes this also.
Anyway periods are now coming every 39 days, and I barely need to use tampons these days. I still get the pain but not nearly the same flow.
I went to the docs as the change has come quite sudden and she tested my fsh and lutenising hormone. Fsh was at 8 and LH was at 24. Doc said she wasn't concerned as fsh was fine. However, with those tests it also showed I was hypothyroid again and my blood sugar was high. I was surprised by this as I've lost two stone so far on weight watchers with one stone to go to target.

My question is have any of u had sudden changes but all has been okay?

I haven't had kids and really want a family and I'm terrified I won't be able to or am not ovulating anymore.

My main fear is early menopause due to my autoimmune issues.

Any advice would be great.

Have you discussed your concerns with the GP? How are they going to manage your thyroid and blood sugars?

I have coeliac disease which effected my fertility before diagnosis so get the worry. I would want to have a serious convo with some one about the risks.

@doitagainbob aw I'm sorry to hear that about your coeliac. Do you have thyroid problems too? Well the gp thinks the blood sugar is a one off so having a retest next week of fasting glucose.

I just worry I can't have a child. I honestly don't know what it would do to me mentally.
