ds has glue ear in one ear. does this mean he is more likely to have problems with cabin pressure in terms of ear pain? anyone know about this?

Sorry Sophable - IME it does How old is your ds? Try to make him as decongested as possible before you go and do the usual suck/swallow routine on landing and takeoff - I also give a dose of calpol beforehand for good measure.

Sophable my ds has glue ear (had grommets in a few months ago) and I was dreading taking him on a plane for our hols last year. I gave him calpol beforehand and juice to drink for landing and take off and he was absolutley fine. Hope your ds is OK.

If it's any help, my ds had constant ear infections for his first 2 years and never once had a problem on a plane.

AGain, only anecdotal, but DH had glue ear as a child - so bad that he now has hearing loss as an adult. But he's never had problems on planes, either.

Oh sophable, I hope I didn't put you off...it looks like my ds's were unlucky (or have very low pain thresholds - well they are little men after all )......then again a child free trip sounds like a great idea.
