c-section scar, red and sore....7 years on?!

It has always had painful twinges, sometimes feels weirdly itchy and has a general numbness around that area. It is always also a fairly big jaggy scar. But for the last few days it feels kind of sore and 'draggy' and quite red. Why would this be, 7 years after section?

I had something similar recently, six and a half years on, it passed.

Same scar, two children, last one over 20 years ago. Still sometimes get a twinge, itching and certainly the whole area is quite numb

The redness suggests there could maybe be some sort of skin problem, I'd try washing it, dry, and a bit of antiseptic cream ( just a v light wipe over), and if it doesn't improve in a day or so I'd get it checked out by docs.

I had the same this year - 8 years since first section and 5 years since second. It freaked me out a bit as i had never had any problems. In my case it was an (ahem) 'overhang' problem and in the end, I think canesten sorted it.

My last caesarean almost 25 years ago. I recall having pain after 8 years. It gets itchy and it’s still numb - l noticed this again last week when squeezing past a chair whose back was at just the right height! At least it’s only a little numb these days.

Thankyou everyone. I'm glad it's not just me. It has been freaking me out a bit, as I try and shove all memories of ds's birth into a box, and suddenly being so aware of the scar has sent my brain in a bit of a spin.

I will keep an eye on it and go to the Drs if it carries on being painful, otherwise I'll take it as one of those things.
