Hi mums, am hoping that someone out there has some good advice as kegels are not cutting it for me!
I’m a single mum to a one year old, I work full time so life is hectic. Everyone kept telling me my pelvic floor would get back to normal after kegels but it’s not working. I’ve seen a physio twice, I don’t have prolapse but definite muscle weakness. I exercised a lot in pregnancy as I’ve always been active, is this part of the problem? I had an assisted birth with episiotomy but came off lightly compared to others, or so I thought.
I currently do 9 reps of 9 secs hold and 11 reps of fast release 4-6 times a day and have been doing so regularly since August but was going kegels 3 times at day before that anyway. They just are not working for me at all!! I’m doing them correctly apparently.
I cannot accept a life of leaking at every cough, spit and fart. Not exercising is driving me crazy too. Has anyone else been in the same boat and know of any other ways to heal the pelvic floor properly?
