I started another thread to see if anyone else did it but obviously not.

Which makes me think even more that I am doing something abnormal!!!

So whats wrong with it? I just want a couple of lines on my head out and some fillers the side of my mouth.

Are you all young and beautiful/growing old gracefully (or lying )

Your opinions gratefully received

Yup.

noddyholder · 16/04/2007 17:42

I plan to get it although a friend had something called skin jetting done and it is amazing so am looking into that too

bungalowbelle · 16/04/2007 17:42

Actually I know loads of people who want it but I don't know any who've had it. Unless they just haven't admitted it.

sykes · 16/04/2007 17:43

I've had it done three times so must be very odd. It won't be any use for fillers, you need another type of injection for that. And be careful who you go to, I don't like the freeze-framed look and have a very experienced plastic surgeon who injects my botox.

Carmenere · 16/04/2007 17:43

It's botchulism innit

noddyholder · 16/04/2007 17:44

sykes does it make your eyes droopy?

bossykate · 16/04/2007 17:45

i would. but would need to get my acne scars treated first - otherwise not much point. i've looked into the latter and it would cost me about £4k - so not on the agenda any time soon.

mosschops30 · 16/04/2007 17:45

sykes I am going to a reputable clinic (so not a backstreet hairdresser who does it in the back kitchen )
am having a consultation first where she tells me what she can do and what needs doing, but I already know I want fillers either side of that bit between your nose and mouth.

So does it hurt? How often do you go? Any nasty side effects?

forget the botox .. vodka paralyses more muscles

sykes · 16/04/2007 17:46

No, they look normal. I think it can go wrong - hence you need someone very experienced, in my opinion. Dentists and GPs can do it now and although am sure some are fine, I'd rather have an expert in botox. Jesus ..... I do sound odd.

jalopy · 16/04/2007 17:46

I'd hate to acquire an expression I'd never had before

fairydust · 16/04/2007 17:46

personally think that anyone that would want to inflick pain on them selfs like that is stupid

Radley · 16/04/2007 17:47

I would have botox, or any other plastic surgery in a second.

sykes · 16/04/2007 17:48

It hurts a bit, depending on where you have it done. Only as in makes your eyes water, in my experience. The fillers are supposed to be fairly sore although I think you often have a local before.
It's supposed to be between two and four times a year but I think some people get addicted and look very strange. I have it three times a year, just about to go for the fourth.

NadineBaggott · 16/04/2007 17:48

I'd have a head transplant if poss

jalopy · 16/04/2007 17:48

You could end up looking like this or or maybe this

brimfull · 16/04/2007 17:49

I would have it,would also have my upper eyelids done if I had the dosh.

mosschops30 · 16/04/2007 17:49

yes I have been told probably 3 monthly too, but apparently the younger you start having it done the less wrinkles you get god I hope so.

OP posts:
NadineBaggott · 16/04/2007 17:50

and leg transplants

sykes · 16/04/2007 17:55

I've stretched to nearly five this time and I THINK my wrinkles aren't as bad as they used to be and the effects must have worn off by now. The first time you have it done your forehead feels very strange, really heavy. Also, you mustn't touch the areas injected for at least 24 hours - as in don't rub them and you can't have facials etc for ten days, I think. The botox tends to work best if you frown and smile - move your muscles around a lot. The full effects can take up to ten days to really take.

sykes · 16/04/2007 17:55

AS in five months between sessions. Off to the park with the girls and dog now but any queries, feel free.

dumbymummy · 16/04/2007 17:56

NB, you're obviously not using your namesake's famous beauty product, OIL OF OLAY REGENERIS cream, or you wouldn't want a head transplant. I'd go down the Olay route before considering anything so drastically expensive. (That said, and I've mentioned it in another thread) Nadine Baggot (of TV fame) has definitely had botox. No one has a forehead that smooth. It ain't natural.

NadineBaggott · 16/04/2007 17:58

oh my skin is fabulous but I'm ugly, have rotten teeth, a pointy nose and strawlike hair - hence the need for a head transplant.

let's not discuss my legs ......

twinsetandpearls · 16/04/2007 17:59

I want it but my poverty and fear of needles are proving to be a hindrance.

dumbymummy · 16/04/2007 18:03

To be serious, I would have probably scoffed at anyone considering it a while ago, but I was 39 when I had my ds (I'm now 41) and I do sometimes worry about appearing visibly more wrinkly than the other mums when he gets to school age. It's shallow, but it's the age we live in. The genie is out of the bottle, and I would never say never. Fear of needles - that would be a problem for me, too.
