please can you advise I am trying to self medicate my PCOS symptoms and think that Sepia for PMT and Ipecac for menstration will help ease my symptoms with possible pulsatilla or sulphur to combat acne. Is it posible to combune these or would it be best to tackle one symptom at a time. I don ot want to use conventional medication as it has a negative effect on another part of my system. my gp has given his blessing to me trying anything that might work

i'm not gloworm so hope I am allowed to reply to you . Maryon Stewart has written a few books dealing with controlling PMT through diet, so just wondered if you might want to consider that as well.

i'm afrid all the thing you mentioned are homeopathic remedies and i dont know a lot about them. are you seeing a homeopath or are you deciding yourself what to take?
As far as i know its really difficult to decide yourself, it is not always the most obvious pill that will work. you have to take into account your past history, personality. loads of other things as well. If not already doing so, youshould try to see a homeopathic practicioner.

I will have a look at work and see if i can come up with any more info on herbal remedies for PCOS. it may be a few days, or even weeks, as we are quite busy during july and august.

Thank you gloworm I am just looking into it all I would rather do a herbal remedy / dietary route I think - I had diagnosed based on a leaflet from Boots so not very scientific - some symptoms I can control using Bach flower remedies - Thank you again for your time and help

Gmama , I didnt realsie you had this.My sympathys. I dont have PCOS, but I have been reffered to PMS specialist as real jekyl and hyde; about 10 days b4 I dont sleep well at all and when AF comes its sooo heavy I feel sick, very bloaty, swollen and giddy.

What I take is magnesium stearate and Vit B6, 3 tablets a day which is 450mg ( that is the key amount BTW )and after a few cycles I have noticed the difference. This is what the doc seuggested but i had already seen someone who does nutirional medicines. Im not as bloated and a LITTLE calmer. I dont have the same horrible horrible pain. Over all a better feeling in the body , but I still dont sleep to well. I know its the PMS as Im fine sleeping all the other days.

I have been told the downside with self diagnosis homeotpathy is that if its to work at its best, you need a practioner to take very detailed information about you ie : how your bodily functions work ,your mental outlook, attitude to pain etc and once this is noted they then prescribe the right combo for your particular body/mind/spirit.

I really notice the difference in a cycle if I forget to take the magnesium. You can get it fomr food ,but I think you may have to eat enourmous amounts of green veg to get that qauntity !!
