It's Franny again with a low blood pressure / pins and needles type thing

I posted about low blood pressure before and everyone was very reassuring. It has all been fine and I have not been feeling so dizzy for a while.

However now I have pins and needles in my hands and feet, on and off all the time. Am I right in thinking this is probably caused by low blood pressure as well? What can be done about low blood pressure?

i have low blood pressure too. 'they' seen to be of the collective opinion that theres nowt to be done about it.

dunno about the pins and needles though... it just comes and goes? hmmmm, i would go and ask the doc (not that theyll say anything useful, but you gotta try!)

FrannyandZooey · 15/04/2007 09:04

I will go

but want to know in advance what they will say

do you think you had better run up a batch of biscuits or something, just in case?

(ps I like lemon curd ones the best)

what is your BP franny?

zippitippitoes · 15/04/2007 12:23

pins and needles randomly or in bed?

are you tired all the time?

do you get breathless?

Tamum · 15/04/2007 12:26

I've read that low BP is treated in Germany (or at least on the continent) but is just never considered to be a problem here. I can see it's unpleasant but it's just not thought to be worth taking drugs for, I think. I guess some of the symptoms could be confused with anaemia though, so it's worth being sure that you're not anaemic, maybe.

FrannyandZooey · 15/04/2007 12:26

Can't remember what it was last time, but lowish

I get them on and off all the time atm Zippi, in bed and at other times

(have them right now all the way up my arms - I thought it was too much pc use at first but they are in my legs as well, and I have them first thing in the morning too, not just after using the pc)

I don't feel tired or breathless or anything else bad at all

Oh anaemia, yes, and I used to have this odd B 12 deficiency, which also gave me pins and needles, but then I felt crap all the time, and I really feel fine, have plenty of energy and so on

OP posts:
OttersPool · 15/04/2007 12:27

when i had anaemia i would get pins and needles and cramping in my arms and hands....not sure if that is related..

FrannyandZooey · 15/04/2007 12:28

I hadn't thought of anaemia but I would feel pretty lousy, wouldn't I?

OP posts:
OttersPool · 15/04/2007 12:28

ohhh could be

FrannyandZooey · 15/04/2007 12:30

Have just looked, my bp last time was 100/70, so not particularly low

will phone gp in the morning I think

I used to have very low blood pressure...

I have very poor circulation generally one of the reasons i have syarted taking co enzyme q100 and ginkgo which i think may be improving

I get pins and needles easily especially in bed but i am one of those people that always has random things ..alwys have had fluctuating hormone levels which is a bit debilitating

NappiesGalore · 15/04/2007 16:11

oh me too.

especially at the thought of cooking and baking no, not really. I Will Bake when i get my house back. and if the results are remotely nice... i'll eat them all and tell you howe good they were! (unless youre dying)

but yes, i get all that stuff - but the pins&needles less so. fluctuating hormones definately.

makes exercise particularly depressing - 2 sodding minutes and im dizzy and breathless.

AitchTwoOh · 15/04/2007 16:13

100/70 is pactically normal, franny. would a steak help with that anaemia?

NappiesGalore · 15/04/2007 18:25

yeah a systolic in the 70's isnt bad
(she said, pretending she know what shes talking about )

FrannyandZooey · 16/04/2007 12:59

Have been to doctor

they took blood (and fucked my veins about a lot )

I am disappointed actually because I really don't think I can be anaemic or deficient in B12 (feel too healthy!) so in a week when the test results come back normal I will be traipsing down there to see if they can think of anything else.

Blood pressure was normal today, she said (didn't tell me what it was)

OP posts:
AitchTwoOh · 16/04/2007 14:19

ouch. so she had no ideas as to what ight be causing the pins and needles (other than sitting on your arse MNing)..?

meowmix · 16/04/2007 14:32

did they check for low blood sugar? i had a spell of this and thats what they said it was - i think it was that and a being a bit dehydrated from trekking across the desert in height of summer (oh, ok walking from the car to the office, tchah)
