DD has had diarrhoea for 1 week now, how worried should I be?

DD is 11 months and has had diarrhoea for 1 week now. I changed her milk 2 weeks ago, and this affected her sleep and put her off her food for a few days, so I put her back onto the milk we had been using. She seemed to feel better almost immediately but was still clingy and dribbly (like teething). A few days later she started having diarrhoea and was a bit sicky for a day or two. She is now happy, eating and taking milk fine, sleeping fine (apart from the odd cry out, which I think is due to teething too) but still has diarrhoea 1 week on. She seemed to lose a little weight during the week (her nappies were looser on her) but she's filled out again now. I took her to the Dr on Tuesday, who said she most likely had a viral infection, but everyone I know who's babies' had a viral infection said they were obviously ill, lost loads of weight, were unhappy, sicky, wouldn't eat etc.....

The question is, how worried should I be? She has her hands in her mouth all the time and is constantly biting something. She's really dribbly and she's always had bad diarrhoea when she's sore with teething.

am I being too relaxed in thinking this is just teething related? Should I take her back to the Dr and take a stool sample?

My work is giving me hassle because I had to take 1 day off as a family day but the nursery (at the office) policy is that you can't take them back until you've had 2 days of normal nappies. Not sure what to do if she's still got diarrhoea on Monday.

Please help!!

I would be tempted to take her back on Monday, as she is so young. That will be 6 days after you last saw a GP.

TBH whenever any of my DDs has had a sickness bug the diahrroea can last for 7-10 days after the sikness, as it is difficult to starve such a small child to help the bowel get rid of it.

Is she taking water and keeping re-hydrated?
