So last couple of times DH and I had sex it was a bit sore. First time there was a bit of old blood the next day. Last time there was bright red blood shortly afterwards.

I've been dithering about going to the doctor's but I'm going to try and get an appointment tomorrow.

I know it can be a variety of things but I'm a bit worried it might be cervical cancer (feel ridiculous even saying that) I do have regular smear tests - think I'm probably due one soon.

Please come and reassure me it's most likely nothing, thanks.

Well done for booking the appointment Fudge - yes an annoyingly long wait...grrrr.

SamPotatoes - I’m in awe you pulled your own coil out I don’t have any pain any other time but I’ve had this coil in for at least a year and this is my third one so it seems to suit me and no periods which is lovely. Glad you are all fine now.

Hope you're ok @HarrietTheRabbit. Just an update from me with good news Smile To cut a long story short, I got an earlier appointment with my GP on Monday, she couldn't have been lovelier. She did an examination and found everything looked 100% healthy however, she found that the bit where I'm feeling discomfort in sex is right next to a lot of scar tissue I have from some surgeries I had last year for an abscess so she thinks it's the tightness of the scar tissue pulling which causes the discomfort and spotting. She also said that combined with a normal smear only 3 months ago makes her confident to rule out anything sinister but sent me for a pelvic ultrasound today just to double check everything else looks healthy. Just had the ultrasound and the technician also confirmed everything looks totally healthy. Feeling very relieved and so glad you motivated me to get it checked out instead of burying my head in the sand and worrying. Hope all works out ok for you too Flowers

I had this, was referred to gynae where they discovered polys on examination and removed them there and then. Very quick and painless.

@fudgedelight that’s great news! I have an appointment later on this week to see gynae so hopefully mine will be as easily resolved.

Dinkydecker - thanks for that! More possibilities which are sorted on the spot the better Smile

@fudgedelight - saw gynae today, she did a smear test (results in a couple of weeks) and and ultra sound. She couldn’t see anything problematic and reckons bleeding could just be irritation from the threads of my mirena coil so has given me some cream to use for a week. She is not expecting to find anything in the smear test and is expecting follow up appointment to be my last - hooray!
Hope this thread is reassuring for anyone else who has this problem in the future.

That sounds really positive @HarrietTheRabbit, fingers crossed for your smear results. I'm so glad I got mine checked, I'd been worrying about it for a good few weeks and this thread gave me the kick I needed to get it checked Smile

I’ve started bleeding heavily after sex. This is the first time it’s happened and I’m freaking out after googling!!

Sex was rougher than usual, with a few toys involved.
Same partner (husband).
I had a miscarriage in June so unsure if that’s a factor although we’ve had sex since then.
Bleeding is heavy enough to fill a pad regularly - no pain as such abs blood is bright red. I know it’s not my usual period too.
Any advice is greeeeeatly appreciated!!
