Wisdom tooth extraction

Hi all,
I’m due to have my upper left wisdom tooth extracted at the dentists this Friday. I’m a bit nervous about it to be honest.
It should be straightforward (so I’m told!) as the wisdom tooth is fully erupted and there aren’t any other issues. The reason it’s being removed is it comes out at a funny angle, making it hard to clean and I keep getting gum inflammation in the area as a result.
If you’ve had the same thing, can you please give me some advice/information...e.g. how long did it take, what was it like afterwards, did you have to avoid food etc.
Thanks!

As above plus I was told to avoid fizzy drinks too - to stop the clot coming away. I’d get some clove oil in if possible, it’s a natural local anaesthetic and was recommended by my dentist when I got a dry socket once - tastes vile but works like magic, good luck Grin

I had all four out in August but under general anaesthetic.
Once they’ve gone the relief is amazing! I realised I hadn’t been able to close my mouth properly for years.
I went mad with the mouthwash because I was terrified of getting dry socket but all was well and I had a nice week signed off work dozing on the sofa! Good luck!

Thanks so much everyone x
I have unfortunately had to postpone the extraction until next Friday, 27th, as Ive been very ill the last day or so with a cold.
I’ll let you know how I get on. Thanks for all your advice!
