While on holiday with our 3 week old son (who is now 8 months )he got very hot at first we thought it was colic as he was crying alot then we thought the room was to warm. We was still cocerned so we took him to a doctors and he sent us to the hospital to put our minds at rest. After a few very upsetting tests they found that he had a kydney infection. Acting as quick as we did saved him from having very serious complications later. He is now on medicine for a couple of years and has to have a urine test every 3 months hoping it will rectify itself. I just want you all to be aware that if your baby does get to hot and you are concerned dont hesitate to get it checked your not being over protective your just being a mum.

Hi there, I hope I can help. My daughter started suffering from incontinence and urine infections at the age of 2. Lots of tearing out of hair and needles later, I checked out and American website which said not to allow any Sweetener called Aspartame. I checked out the ingredients of juice, yoghurts etc and lo and behold - Aspartame. I gave her diluted fresh apple juice (half and half) and gave her organic yogurts,(the only ones available at the time without sweeteners), and the dribbling stopped and the frequency of infections was cut down to about a 10th! Still went through with the investigations at the hospital which have shown her tube from her right kidney is floppy, but they will not commit to a cause - as her Mum I know it was the Aspartame! Any time she has sweeteners, she is a little incontinent - coincidence? Hope this helps you - very important to see Gp everytime there is any sign of infection to stop any kidney scarring which can lead to malfunction. Good Luck

My ds no.3 had a severe urine infection when he was about 6yrs. He was passing blood as well. He got antibiotics and also had a scan of his kidney and bladder after being given a radio -isotope drink. No abnormality was found and he never had another one. Although urine infections are less frequent in boys than girls - it may not mean that there is an underlying problem. HTH.
