Lazy eye treatment - no patching

Hi,

in response to the patching thread, does anybody know if there is any treatment for a lazy eye that doesn't involve patching?

My DH and I both had lazy eyes when we were kids, and DS1 (2.11) has been screened a couple of times and so far he has shown no signs of a squint, but DS2 (0.5) has a squint.

Just wondering if there is any treatment by means other than patching (and glasses)

Thanks

ds3 has a squint in both eyes (apparently - I can only see it in one). They sad that they'll regularly review it, possibly patch if ita ffects his vision, or it's an operation. I'm hoping to avoid the op- it is getting more pronounced though.

My sister and I had patches and glasses, I managed to avoid the operation and eventually "grew" out of it but my sister did need it (twice actually...)

I had heard vaguely of treatment with chemicals but haven't yet looked into it.

A GP took one look at DS2 and said oh he's got a squint, do you know about it? Luckily it had already been dxed by an opthalmologist (that he was seeing about other vision issues)

I hope your son can avoid the operation...
