DD has baaad conjunctiitis and getting drops into her eyes is taking two of us and it is a struggle. DP is at work tomorrow and I have no idea how to do it.

I have a 7yr old ds but can't see how he can help.

Any tips???

brute force with sweets/choc bribes for after

worked wonders

(and I pretended to be Nurse Juno from Me Too! to administer cream the other day for her face rash )

The best way is from behind if you can get her to stay still tip her head back and gently pull the bottom eyelid down and place a drop in there give her a bit of easter egg or something while your doing this , this will distract her and stop her tasting the drops as they inevitably drop to the back of her throat via her eye.

bribery always worked for us as Ds has had a couple of eye infections. Obviously she is uncomfortable with it so keeping saying how it will make eyes better and offer her a treat after of chocolate/magazine etc. Sometimes I had to semi pin DS[sounds horrible I know] but he would fight so much the drops would be all over his face bar his eyes.

DD had blocked tear ducts when she was a baby and still gets bad eye infections now when she has colds. The easiest way is to put a drop into the corner of their eye when they are sleeping - enough will go in and saves any fighting and upset. We also gae DD the bottle with the lid on, or an empty bottle (we went though tonnes of the stuff) and allowed her to give drops to her teddy/ baby annabel etc. Now (she is 4) when she needs to get them there is no problem but she always asks for a drink after as they tend to run down the back of their throats and taste foul! Good luck, hope it clears up soon.

agree with glassslipper, my gp suggested this. the shock of the cold isnt half as bad. They open there eye naturaly as the drop goes in the corner, and it runs in.

voila!!!
