Steroid Hand Injection

I suffer with trigger finger and thickened tendons in my hands, and have to wear a splint overnight so I can open my fingers in the morning Sad The doctor has recommended a steroid injection into the tendon site - appt is next week.

I am not normally squeamish at all - quite the opposite. I have regular blood tests, have had numerous kids, etc. But this is totally freaking me out - I can't get past the wrongness of a needle going into the palm of my hand.

Has anyone had experience of this procedure? Did it help? Honestly, how painful can I expect it to be? Thanks

DH had it. I won't lie and say that it didn't hurt as it did, but it was effective and helped for a couple of years until he had surgery for the trigger finger.

Thank you CMOT. I think this confirms what I was thinking - it's going to hurt but hopefully it'll be worth it.

I had this injection a few months ago. It wasn't too bad. All over incredibly quickly.

I have had Carpel Tunnel Syndromme & De Quervains so few steroid injections in my hands.

I found it uncomfortable but the relief was worth it!
