Methotrexate and headaches

I started methotrexate on the 31st august, ever since the 2nd September I have had a headache that varies in intensity, I have been given pulls to help but they don't and I have had a CT scan and that was clear.
Has anyone else had this?

I had some headaches but mainly what I called a methotrexate hangover. Basically exhaustion, nausea and fluey feeling that lasted a couple of days. Headaches are a side effect though.

I don't know what you're on it for but often the side effects settle after a while and you should be having regular bloods to check your liver and blood counts. It's a really effective drug and dealt really well with my symptoms and gave me some sort of life back.

I was on it for RA and stuck it out for a year injecting it and then realised I couldn't live like that forever with the side effects which didn't settle for me and switched to another drug which is much better.

I'm on it for psoriatic arthritis and ppp. Having weekly blood tests and I'm seeing my consultant tomorrow.

Are you on tablets or injection ?

I suffered really bad when I was on tablets. But when changed to injections I tolerated it much better.
The methotrexate hangover did improve after a few weeks.

I'm on the tablets, I might ask if I can change onto injection

I've been on it for about 2 years now taking it once weekly for RA. It's my 2nd stint on it and I've tolerated it much better this time around as I'm on much more folic acid (5mg 6 days/week this time as opposed to just 1 day/week before). I felt rough for a couple of days after taking it for quite a few months but eventually it passed and now I'm fine with it. I believe the injections can be better for the nausea but not sure about headaches.

I saw my lovely dermatologist today and told him that I have been googling and asked others, he is going to look into injections for me, he is the only doctor who hasn't given up on me and understands the physical pain that I'm in.
