Hi
I can't face posting this in aibu so trying here

Minor issue but have started cycling again . Lost some Of the lard and saving money

The downside I I get very sore Labia particularly on one side

Then it doesn't help that it's stuck in tights and pants all day at work

Anyone else had this ? It's definitely not thrush as put on the cream and it made it sting and more painful

I am home in leggings and cotton pants today but tomorrow back on it and it's painful ! Thanks

Do you have a seat with a hole in the middle? Makes a difference!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 01/10/2017 15:04

Billy Connelly did a whole routine about hard bike seats back in the 80's- you can buy softer gel ones apparently.

Ok...

TheLongRider · 01/10/2017 15:18

How far are you cycling in ordinary clothes? You would be much better off wearing proper cycling shorts or tights with a chamois and NO underwear. That's how cycling clothing is meant to be worn. Cycling clothing doesn't have to be expensive, Lidl or Aldi or Wiggles dhb clothing is a good bet. Just bring a change of clothes.

The chafing is causing the soreness, Sudocrem will help to heal it.

Also check your saddle height. If it's too high it will be putting pressure on your labia. Try dropping it slightly today and that might help.

😳😳 @ 40 minutes cycling in normal clothes!!

Get yourself to a cycle shop or onto Wiggle.com and buy come proper cycling shorts. Definitely no underwear with them, just your bare bits and some lovely padded shorts 👍🏼😀

TheLongRider · 01/10/2017 15:43

Chamois is the padding in the shorts. It used to be made of chamois leather but these days it is usually foam. You'll feel a lot more comfortable in proper cycling clothing. If you don't want tight lycra, then mountain biking styles are baggier on the outside.

For the kind of time you're spending on the bike it's worth getting the clothing. I can cycle in normal clothes but I have to ensure that I'm wearing seam-free underwear. Skirts and dresses are more forgiving.

Lycra is a girl's best friend

Use chamois cream under your bike shorts. Slap it on liberally! Feels like you're wearing a nappy when you first pull your bike shorts up, but your lady bits will thank you!

And no underwear of course!

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 01/10/2017 16:57

Thanks ! Have ordered some chamois cream and have lowered the saddle and pumped tyres . I clearly didn't think this through and need to kit up for the whole ride (before was doing half and half )

💪🏼🚴🏼‍♀️
