My 22 year old daughter has had swollen lymph glands for 5 months. It initially started after a severe case of tonsillitis. The glands are swollen just above her collarbones on both sides. Instead of getting smaller they are getting bigger. She is also now getting short of breath. This has started within the past couple of weeks. She is low in vitamin B12 ( recently diagnosed) and is on monthly injections. She seems to have had numerous infections e.g. Ear infections to the he extent she now has to wear a hearing aid and urine infections where last year she went into kidney failure. I am so worried. I keep getting told that there is nothing to worry about by the consultant but surely should at least have been referred for a CT scan by now. If it was nothing surely the lymph glands would have gone down by now? She also is suffering from night sweats and swollen feet. Is there anyone out there that can give me some advice???

I'm no expert at all on this (hopefully someone else is) but my instinct would also be that it doesn't sound right and to go for further tests. Hopefully it's nothing serious and hope someone comes along who knows more than me. Can you get a different doctor / second opinion? I would be pushing for that, even if its nothing serious you don't want to be feeling like that especially at just 22.

We've got another GP appointment today but I feel like no one (doctors) is listening. There is definitely something not right. Thank you for responding. I'll update after the appointment.

I hope you got someone who listened today. My husband is French and they do so much more testing over there, its so much better for anything serious and the stats speak for themselves. I do find some GPs much better than others though, my current ones aren't bad once you've got an appointment though always ask if you want private. Hopefully it's nothing but if not the sooner its treated the better.
