sun creams for young ones with excema/super-sensitive skin- any ideas?

DS has excema, mainly on his legs but occasionally on torso, arms, face. He is nearly 2 & I need to get some new sun cream for him, but I'm worried in case he reacts to it. Can anyone recommend a good children's or baby's sun cream for LOs with excema?

Thank you! xx

Coppertone works well for my DS, and a friend's DD who has quite severe problems. Also, Vichy.

DD has bad eczema which reacts to lots of products. Last yr. we used Bergaderm (prev. called Proderm). It was in an aerosol and comes out as a mousse so it is light, non-sticky and easy to apply. We find lots of rubbing in increases the itching. DD didn't have a reaction to it and i'd def. get it again. We got it in Sainsburys.

thank cupckes, no wonder i couldnt find it again.

i find we have to change sun creams each year/mid way through the summer, and then we can switch back. we didnt use proderm last year as dd1 itched with it, but found it great the year before. so am hoping its fine for this year. if i can find it in sainsburies.

lavera do a neutral suncream especially for allergy skin.... should be able to get it in health shops. it's made from natural ingredient so should be quite good but haven't tried it yet

My advice is try different brands of sun cream, and stick with whatever works. Also go for creams with lower SPFs and apply more frequently, as the chemicals used in SPFs can be a bit much for sensitive skin.

Last yr we found the one which did the least damage to dd's skin was v. v. cheap!

I have always used Coppertone Waterbabies spf 50. I buy it in the usa, so I'm not sure if it's available in the uk. I have sensitive skin (most other sun lotions make me break out in hives everywhere) and it works on my dd who had terrible excema as a baby.
