The story of my ovarian cancer discovery is here

This is such an important health issue - there's a reason why OC is called the 'silent killer'. I really want more women to be aware of what few symptoms there are (I wasn't).

This is my story. I hope it's a long one.

Hope it goes well today tq. I was thinking about you this morning then realised it was still Sunday evening for you.

TwitterQueen1 · 17/06/2019 12:56

And I am OUT, DONE, DUSTED, ZAPPED Grin Grin and I'm going to award myself a Glitterball and a Star because I deserve them Wink .

The staff are marvellous. My appt was 9.05 but again we arrived early and again went through by 8.50 am. Thank you Churchill Hospital for a) have the technology and b) for the fact that I was eligible to have the treatment. Also I'd like to thank my Trial Consultant (I know he's not reading this but never mind) for picking up on the tumours in the first place and making sure I was in the first MDT. Even if I have had to come to Olaparib and Cedirinab.

Apparently now I will probably get more tired and weak but I wait a few weeks for the follow-up appointments. They're ignoring the tumours in my body for now.

I might have a little zizz now......

Fabulous news TQ, I like the way that reads like an Oscars speech Grin. May any after effects from zapping be easily tolerated and short lived. Take it easy and rest, I’m sure it’ll take a bit of a toll. Yay for completing it!

Pennina · 17/06/2019 13:08

Yay!! Brilliant post TQ and if anyone deserves Star and Glitterball, it is you! May I add Wine and Cake

TwitterQueen1 · 17/06/2019 13:33

Oscars Grin and yes to Cake and Wine and Gin

Gonegrey31 · 17/06/2019 19:07

Well done, I hope you have your feet up and are resting. So glad your brilliant consultant is obviously on the ball xx

2018SoFarSoGreat · 17/06/2019 21:25

congratulations. You did really well, and I agree I read that in the form of your acceptance speech :) You won!

Enjoy all the good things you can find; you've earned them this week.

TwitterQueen1 · 18/06/2019 18:52

ROFL and PMSL at my Oscar speech Grin I don't know what came over me there! So funny

I had what passes these days for a fab night's sleep last night. Having trouble with steroid-induced constipation but managed about 6 hours in total.

Managed short walk into town to buy DD2 22nd birthday present so feeling positive. The hardest thing is actually standing up. I still look like the chipmunk from hell but I'm down to 2 steroids now so hoping I may begin to look halfway human soon.

Love the Oscar speech and picturing the chipmunk from hell walking into town. I shouldn't love Stephen King that much Grin

Down to 2 steroids is a massive improvement, I seem to recall you were taking half of dozen or more!

Have the most wonderful birthday party for your DD, whenever that is.

Gonegrey31 · 24/06/2019 17:35

Hope you are feeling ok, TQ, and are sleeping a bit better Flowers

Oh TQ, I’m so desperately sorry to hear this. So many of us are thinking of you. I know you don’t like the b word but you are and have been - inspirational, spirited, funny and selfless. I for one will continue to support the ovarian cancer awareness campaign, and you have been a powerful and articulate campaigner. I hope your lovely daughters know of your compassion for others through this virtual medium. I do so hope you have peace and comfort. As Leonard Cohen recently said “Endless love, see you down the road”. Xxx
