Migraines and complex history, anyone else?!

This could be a bit long so apologies in advance!

5 years ago when my DS, first baby, was 6 weeks old I had a bleed on my pituitary gland. This was preceded by severe vomiting and diarrhoea and led to a seizure. I was very poorly and in intensive care for 48 hours. I had 2 MRI scans and they located the bleed.

I was discharged after a week and put on a very high dose of hydrocortisone tablets. I was followed up in both endocrinology and neruology for 18 months. During this time they couldn't settle on a diagnosis but I was stable and so they reduced my tablets until I was no longer taking them, this was Jan 2014.

At the same time I found out I was pregnant with my second child. I was under a consultant throughout my pregnancy and had no repeat incidents when I had her in September 2014.

Since then I have remained stable. This year I have started having migraines with aura. I've had about 4 this year. Due to my history I am not allowed to take migraine relief tablets.

This week I went to my GP for some tablets for another migraine and got sent straight to hospital due to reduced sensation and reflexes down my right side. I spent the day at my local hospital and had an emergency MRI, before being allowed home with new tablets. I'm now waiting for an MRI appointment to ensure everything has settled down.

My question is has anyone else experienced something similar??? What was the ultimate outcome???

Another hopeful bump. Anyone out there gone through the same/similar thing?

Nothing similar but I've suffered from migraines since I was 10. One of the best things I've found is 3 soluble aspirin as soon as I feel one coming on. That usually gets me through the day and then I know I need an early night. Can you take aspirin? As it stands I'm currently pregnant and have been having bad visual migraines so can't take much at all. I've been using a forehead stick and their head strips which help a bit. Sorry I can't be more helpful, hopefully some one will come along who has experienced what you have.

Having been hospitalised for four days with a migraine, on IV fluids and morphine, the Neurologist prescribed me 900mg soluble aspirin and Domperidone for nausea/vomiting. Over the counter medication did nothing for me and he said this was the best thing to take.

Thanks. I'll check about aspirin for next time.

I've been given some tablets by the hospital for migraines but the side effects sound quite rough so I'm not keen on taking them

Have you had any sort of diagnosis other than just migraines?

Sounds like mitochondrial dysfunction causing migraine and cyclical vomiting. My ds has mitochondrial disease, so I have done a lot of research and there is a lot of medical and scientific papers out there.
There are supplements that you can take that will help. Take a look at these websites:
