Quick history -

Been getting headaches for the past 2 years, seen 3 different doctors several times and they all did a little 'basic' test on me to rule out obvious signs of tumours etc and when that showed nothing they all insisted it was just vascular tension. Eventually one agreed to send me to a Neurolgist and he did his own basic test on me, checked my eyes, hand strengh, balance etc and ruled out obvious signs of tumour...he sent me away saying it was 99% sure vascular tension.

Anyway, the headaches went away for a while only coming up every now and again but for the past few weeks I've had a re-occuring sharp pain in the back of my head, same exact spot every time, feels like an intense muscle twitch inside my skull but sometimes it's almost unbearable, even though it does only last for a few seconds each time.

I don't want to go back to the doctor, I've been told now by 3 doctors and one neurologist that there is nothing serious wrong but I admit I'm scared, has anyone else experienced these types of pain before?

Have your eyes tested again.

I had the most frighteningly painful headaches 2 years ago, within 2 days of wearing glasses, they were gone.

really? I really should have my eyes tested, when the doctors did it they tested my actual eye rather than my sight.

Were your headaches localised and sharp? I think they call it "jabs and jolts" or ice pick headache.

yes, I felt like I was being stabbed in the side of the head until I got my glasses. they were very very painful, but luckily was due an eye test. I wouldn't have believed something so silly could cause so much pain, but they were almost crippling, and have never had then since.

It was just behind my right temple and wqas so sudden, it would make me clutch my head and howl - I looked like a nutter!
