Separate men b vaccine

Hi,
My baby is due for his 8 week set of jabs in 2 weeks. I have been reading and researching men b vaccine and is really concerned baby will have bad side effects to the vaccine. Apparently this can be caused by having all the other vaccines at the same time.
I have read on one of the threads on here that some parents have had the men b jab separately from the other jabs which is supposedly lessens baby reacting with a bad fever, feeling poorly etc..
Did anyone do this and if so, how long after the 8 week jabs did you then have the men b jab, a couple of days/ 1 week after?

Any advice will help. So worried about these jabs and worried poor little fella won't be able to handle them.

Thanks in advance x

Hi there, speaking from the other side of the vaccinations, my daughter just had her 16 week ones today. We have had no adverse reaction at all from them, including the men b ones. I gave the calpol as directed and we've been fine.
Sorry no advice re separating the vaccines but just a bit of reassurance that not all babies react.

I had similar concerns but in the end figured that adding extra jabs in between the normal schedule would cause more distress than a fever for jab interactions. Like PP I used calpol as instructed and whilst DS was a bit poorly it wasn't any worse than a fever from a cold. Not sure if that's helpful as I know not really what was asked!

Hi, my baby was fine at 8/12 and 16 weeks, calpol straight away, she was just a little sleepier than usual.
12m jabs she did react to (men b and men c) we put her to bed just fine, no temp and had been playing with toys, she woke up crying about midnight, she was very hot with a fever, stripped her off down to her nappy, windows open and lots of cuddles, then had her in our bed in her sleepyhead so we could watch over her.
Fine the next morning. If worried i would keep baby in with you (if he's not already) just so you can keep an eye on him

Both DDs had the Men B separately as they were too old for the NHS schedule.

It was incredibly sore. DD1 at 4 years old lost the use of her arm for 48 hours. DD2 at 2 years fared better with a limp for 24 hours.

They both had a temp of over 39 degrees. It's a tough vaccination. We felt it was worth the side effects.

The booster seemed easier. DD1 needed 2 boosters though - age related.

I'm interested in this also. My DD is 15 weeks old. We have delayed her jabs ever so slightly (mainly due to a few scheduling issues!), and today she has just had her 2nd set (usually given at 12 weeks).

She had her first set at 9 weeks, including men b, and was actually ok. She had the jabs in the afternoon, and slept immediately afterwards. She woke in the eve briefly and screamed for an hour. Then slept right thru the night. We kept up with the calpol as advised. Next day she was absolutely fine. She was miserable for a week or so afterwards but I can't entirely pin point the reason as she also had a tongue tie release done, and thrush in her mouth! Bad week for her....

Anyway. She had round 2 today (just one jab and no men b, so far she seems fine!) and I am planning the 3rd set now for 4 weeks time. I have read a lot about the men b too and am considering getting it done separately to the other 3rd set of jabs. Just not sure how long to leave it; days or a week or so?

Will watch this thread with interest, hoping somebody has done this and can share experience.

Thanks all for replying back. It seems everyone is different and I will just have to wait and see how my little one will fair up. I am praying he is one of those fortunate ones who will be be absolutely fine in a day. Fingers and toes crossed. X
