Always VERY hungry when I wake up during the night?

I have no idea how common this is but I have this thing where are soon as I wake up during the night (which is a lot my sleep is quite broken), I'm really really hungry. I usually crave something sugary so sometimes I keep a biscuit or a chocolate bar or something next to my bed just in case.

But this usually doesn't happen when I actually wake up in the morning, only at night? I'm actually not usually hungry at all in the morning, regardless if I had something at night or not.

I am generally on the low end of a healthy weight (18-19 BMI). I am fully aware that I'm eating. Sometimes I wake up very dazed along with the sugar craving. Can anyone help with this? I'm going to book an appointment tomorrow with the GP too but just wanted to know if anyone else experiences this? xx

No advice sorry but gosh your teeth! Make sure you clean well after each snack.

Are you eating enough during the day? It doesn't sound like you are

Have you tried having a drink instead? Sometimes the body can confuse hunger and thirst.
I do also eat at night but in my case I think it's from breastfeeding and broken sleep causing sugar cravings

I'm always starving when I wake in the night but I just ignore it and try to sleep.

Try protein before bed. Sounds like a blood sugar crash.

I eat ok during the day, except when I'm going through a depressive episode. I don't think that I intake much protein from my diet. I do eat lots of carbs though.

I always keep some lucozade energy or sport next to me but I don't usually feel thirsty during the night unless it's too hot xx

Try using your protein generally. Lucozade etc and sugary snacks will give you an instant sugar high and then your blood sugar crashes. More protein and cut out the sugary drinks and snacks.

Uping your protein not using!
