DVT related - Can i be confident it hasn't come back?

Just wondered if I could ask your opinions please.

I had a DVT about 8 years ago about 6 weeks after the birth of my first daughter. I had some pain which came and went for a year or so after but since then nothing significant.
My DVT back then presented with very painful cramps, but not really swelling or redness.

I've had IMO exactly the same cramping in the same place for over a week. The cramps are excruciating when they happen and I can't walk for a few minutes. I've a dull lingering pain but it is not too bad when I walk around in the day. It hurts when I feel it in my calf.

I finally went to GP today who took a quick look and did Homan's sign. He says he is confident there is no DVT as I don't have pain all the time. He also said I don't have any other risk factors as my last one was due to pregnancy. I also had some blood tests back then for Lupus anticoagulant which came back positive and borderline but nothing was followed up.
He said it's muscle pain. I am sure it is not as I have done nothing to induce muscle pain and it is in the same spot and the same feeling as my last DVT.

He sent me away with nothing and said if it continues i might have some physio on it later on.

Can I be confident or not with this and put it to rest and stop worrying with his diagnosis?

I had a DVT a few years back and still get the odd pain in the leg where it happened. A couple of times I've been worried enough to go to A &E to get it scanned and both times it's been fine. I think that having a big clot can damage your veins and leave you susceptible to pains afterwards. If you are in any doubt, go to A&E and get it checked though.

My mum had a Dvt when she had chemotherapy. A year after the site of the clot became sore and her leg was swollen. She got a scan and it's some sort of scaring left from having a clot, can't remember what it's called though.
She now wears surgical stockings which were made exactly to her leg measurements (they take loads of measurements from different places on her leg) so they fit exactly.
Could be that op.
