This wont help, but told you so........

dd2 got it 2 weeks after being at dd1's playschool.
Calamine good. dd2 was covered and looked like a little ghosty, but she was fine really. Didn't seem to bother her much, but she's quite chilled out.

You can try an oatmeal bath if she's really uncomfy.

Hope she has a mild case. Don't worry.

TrinityRhino · 04/04/2007 17:34

no dd1, dh and I have all had it before

just remember that it's worse when older

OP posts:
belgo · 04/04/2007 17:34

hope she's not to ill trinity.

cathcart · 04/04/2007 17:35

oh dear! for you and gecko! poor little poppet!if its any consolation - at least it will be over and done with early on

BandofBunnies · 04/04/2007 17:35

Don't get boots calamine tho, as is runny. I think i got mine from Moss which is the one attached to my surgery. It was nice and thick, and worked really well. It was so thickly encrusted in her hair by the time I could bath her again, it took weeks to come out!!!

TrinityRhino · 04/04/2007 17:35

thats true cathcart, shame it's in the holidays though

OP posts:
belgo · 04/04/2007 17:36

hate to tell you this but if she gets it mildly at such a young age she might not be fully immune and may get it again.

BandofBunnies · 04/04/2007 17:39

She can't scratch them either so minimal scarring. dd2 has a scar on her bum that's really bad as was huge and always wet in her nappy. took ages to heal, was like bed sore

princessmelTingChoccyEggs · 04/04/2007 17:47

Oh dear poor baby gecko

She's only tiny. Fingers crossed she gets it mildly.

OP posts:
TrinityRhino · 04/04/2007 19:59

I swear the spots are popping up before my eyes

OP posts:
TrinityRhino · 04/04/2007 21:00

I'm sure she looks sad

OP posts:
BandofBunnies · 04/04/2007 21:43

They do seem to just appear out of thin air. TR. As long as she seems ok. DD2 looked quite pathetic all white!!!

TrinityRhino · 05/04/2007 08:37

well she slept ok lastnight and there are more spots this morning
dd was at her worst on the second night since the spots so fingers crossed for today and tonight

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 05/04/2007 08:46

Oh no

losty · 05/04/2007 08:46

So sorry to hear this TR. In my experience it was worse for the second child to get it, and in my case like you that was also the youngest one. I found calamine aqueous cream the best to stop the scratching. I do hope little gecko has it mildly tho. But if she gets bad, do get yourself along to the doc for some meds for her

TrinityRhino · 05/04/2007 13:41

thanks everyone

should i be worried that she seems to be sleeping more today than she usually does in the day
she is easily rousable and feeding the same just sleeping more than she usually does. I assumed that when illyou do sleep more(if you get the chance) but I was just wondering if it is ok?

OP posts:
losty · 05/04/2007 13:44

That will be the pox TR. But make sure she feeds enough - if she is sleeping so much sh may miss a feed, and she will need the energy - plus she may wake more at night if she gets hungry... Keep us posted x

Trinityrhino · 05/04/2007 14:31

thanks losty, will do x
