Could anyone identify what is on my foot? Google is throwing up lots of possibilities including eczema.

Photo attached which I apologise in advance for because it looks disgusting.

I had what looks like exactly the same thing. Does yours get itchy? Mine made walking a touch painful too.

Anyway, I don't know what it is but the only thing which worked was Canestan cream for feet. Worked within hours, after a few days it was completely gone, bliss

Looks like pomphylx eczema. Try a topical steroid cream.

ChipInTheSugar · 12/09/2017 22:16

Dyshydrotic excema, also called pomphlyx. There's usually loads of threads on here over the summer about it!

bookbook · 12/09/2017 22:18

Athletes foot can show up like this , so yes canestan or daktarin may be worth a go

DipsyLaLa22 · 12/09/2017 22:20

Yep, pomphlyx. If it's itchy and bothering you it Usually needs strong steroids to shift it which will need a prescription. See your GP.

BeachysFlipFlops · 12/09/2017 22:55

I get that, known as Polly Plops in this house. I use Daktacort to get rid of it....

Happydays21 · 13/09/2017 06:45

Ooh i get that but didnt know it had a name! I thought it was related to athletes foot as i get it on the foot i have athletes foot on and not the other one.

Are pomphlics and athletes foot related? Thanks.

splatattack · 13/09/2017 06:58

I thought it was a pustular type of psoriasis?

DrGrey · 13/09/2017 20:50

Thank you very much for all of the responses.

Ok I will get some steroid cream. I do have psoriasis on my leg too so wonder if it's spread. Both the foot and leg psoriasis are new so I think I might need to go to see a GP to see what has caused it.

It looks more like palmoplanter pustolisis Psoriasis (PPP)

onalongsabbatical · 15/09/2017 17:08

Yes to it being PPP - I get it. I'm not sure steroids are any good on it. I have other kinds of psoriasis, too, makes it more likely it's that.

IshipTomHardysohard · 15/09/2017 17:19

It really looks like ppp
My feet when I developed it, looked exactly like the photo you posted. You need steroid cream

Heratnumber7 · 15/09/2017 17:29

Athletes foot

SweetChickadee · 15/09/2017 17:33

I had psoriasis on the bottom of my foot and it looked like that. Steroid cream got shot of it and never had it since

(two Drs diagnosed fungal infection before I saw a dermatologist, so don't be fobbed off!)
