Are his nappies dry at all during the day or are they just normal?

Elasticwoman · 04/04/2007 17:26

I never gave mine anything to drink at all after the evening meal (unless they said they were thirsty and then it would be a small amount of water). Is ds still in nappies day and night?

I would make sure ds has plenty to drink earlier in the day, not too much at teatime and nothing thereafter.

nuttyaboutchoceggs · 04/04/2007 17:41

he is still in nappies day and night he drinks throughout the day and sometimes gets quite wet in the day

When my dd discovered orange squash at about 18 months I remember her suddenly peeing more than her nappy could cope with.

Charleesunnysunsun · 04/04/2007 21:17

I wouldn't be to worried. My DS went through a stage of it and i just brought boosters for nappies from Boots that worked fine as long as his wee is not hrting him or strong coloured i think it's fine.

clayre · 04/04/2007 21:28

have you changed nappies? i usually use pampers but sainsburys didnt have the right size so i bought sainsburys version and ds is soaked in the morning (and they burst!)

tinkerbellhadpiles · 04/04/2007 21:29

I take it his wee doesn't smell funny either? If it does it could be a UTI and that can increase the amount of output.

PinkTulips · 04/04/2007 21:33

dd went through a stage of this about 3 months ago, i even started a thread about it!

it seemed to pass on it's own and in the meantime i just boosted her nappy so much she could barely move it was so padded!

still have no idea what caused it but someone suggested it could be when they become more aware of when they pee and start holding it in a bit during the day... not sure but potty training did seem to make a differance, she's still in a night nappy but it's only got one booster now and she barely needs that

nuttyaboutchoceggs · 04/04/2007 21:56

thanks all i use tescos nappies and never had this problem before what do you pad the nappy with?

OP posts:
PinkTulips · 04/04/2007 22:17

i use cotton nappies so use lots of microfibre clothes but i know you can get disposable booster pads in boots

ChasingRabbits · 04/04/2007 22:19

ds had this around 18mo I think, tried everything - padding, different types, different sizes. The only thing that worked here was pampers pull-ups. I used them at night and stuck to tesco normal nappies in the day time as that wasn't a problem
