Pooling of blood in hands - feels like they're going to explode.

Recently in the evening after I've eaten when I've stood up to clear the table I have pooling of blood in my hands. My veins go huge, my hands go bright red and it feels like they're going to explode. When I raise my hands above my head it goes down, but the moment I drop them again even to waist height they start filling up again.

It feels really uncomfortable, as you'd imagine.

Any ideas what this could be? Should I go and get it checked out by the doc?

I have mild raynaulds syndrome and cfs/me.

After I've eaten a hot meal, approx 4 mins after finishing eating, my hands will automatically go bright red. The opposite goes for if I eat a cold meal, ie large bowl of defrosted berries and yoghurt or large glass of chilled water, then my fingers go blue.

No, not on any meds for it.

The reynaulds hasn't been so bad since I got cfs/me four years ago. Before I'd get white and numb ends to my fingers. Now they just go blue or my hands go red.

There's some swelling when my hands get hot after eating hot food. It's almost immediate.

Thanks red

Interestingly I've had problems swallowing food recently - when I eat something like a piece of bread or something else bulky it feels uncomfortable to swallow. I'm waiting for a barium swallow to check it out. I thought this was related to a cyst on my thyroid but problems swallowing is on the list of symptoms for scleroderma.
